Working capital

Working capital finance

Short-term funding for the everyday gap between money going out and money coming in — suppliers, stock, wages and seasonal peaks.

Configured amounts
£2,000 – £150,000
Terms
6 – 24 months
First 6 months
Interest-free, capital only

No interest is charged for the first six months — you repay capital only. Interest applies to the remaining balance from month seven, spread across the rest of the term. Every request is reviewed by a funding specialist.

Who it suits

Is this the right fit for your business?

Funding works best when the structure matches the reason for borrowing. These are the situations this option is usually suited to.

  • Businesses with long customer payment terms
  • Seasonal trading patterns with predictable quiet periods
  • Companies that need to buy stock before they can sell it
  • Businesses taking on a contract that needs funding upfront

Common uses

What businesses use it for

  • Paying suppliers while waiting on customer invoices
  • Pre-season stock and materials
  • Payroll during a ramp-up period
  • VAT and other periodic bills
  • Short-term gaps caused by a delayed payment

How it works

From enquiry to completion

  1. 1

    Short by design

Working capital funding is intended to be repaid out of the trading cycle it supports, not carried for years.

  2. 2

    Sized to the gap

The right amount is the size of the gap plus sensible headroom — not the largest figure available to you.

  3. 3

    Repaid from the cycle

Repayments are structured to line up with when the money comes back into the business.

  4. 4

    Reviewed as you grow

As trading changes, the facility can be revisited rather than left to sit at a size that no longer fits.

Things to weigh up

What to consider before you borrow

Business finance is a commitment. These are the points worth thinking through honestly before you apply.

  1. It is not a fix for a structural problem

If the gap never closes, more funding makes it worse. Working capital finance solves timing problems, not persistent losses.

  2. Higher monthly cost

Short terms concentrate repayments, so the monthly figure is higher than a long-term loan for the same amount.

  3. Watch for stacking

Taking multiple short-term facilities at once is a common route into trouble. Tell us about existing commitments so the picture is accurate.

  4. Plan the exit

Be clear about which receipts repay the facility before you draw it.
